The Dragon Did Not Prevail Revelation 12:8

John the apostle wrote, “ And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: and she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. He continued, “And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon;
and the dragon fought and his angels”, and in chapter twelve and verse seven of Revelation John shared how the the devil, “prevailed not; neither was there place found...in heaven” for him where we read:

And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.

The verse reads, And prevailed not; John began with the words, “and prevailed not” which means “the red dragon which is the Devil, Satan was not strong enough, did not have or wield the power or have the force or ability” to conquer “Michael and his angels”. John shared how “the Devil” did not have the power to overcome the “archangel Michael” and his “angels”.

The verse goes on to say, “neither was their place found any more in heaven. John added the words, “neither” which means “nor and not in any way” “was their place” or “was there any portion, space, city, village or district” “found” or “discovered, revealed or in shown” “any more” which means “yet, still or even now” “in heaven” or “in the region above the sidereal heavens, the seat of order of things eternal and consummately perfect where God dwells and other heavenly beings . John shared how Satan no longer had any “place” “in heaven” with God.

When we think through John's words in this verse, we see how “Satan” and his demons were not able to “prevail” against “Michael and his angels” and therefore no “portion or space” was “found in God's heaven” for him. “Satan” desires to overcome every person and to keep them from having a relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ, and God is able to defeat his every attempt to do so. May all who read these words understand that “Satan, the Devil” is a defeated foe, and he only desires to carry others with him in his defeat.

Next time John shares how the “dragon was cast out so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
