Go and Pour Out Your Vials Revelation 16:1

As John continued to share concerning the events during the tribulation, He wrote about the antichrist, the false prophets and angels who were involved in the reaping of the harvest of believers who received the Lord Jesus during that time. John added, And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God. And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God. And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvelous are your works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are your ways, you King of saints”, and John asked, “Who shall not fear you, O Lord, and glorify your name?” and answered, “for you only are holy: for all nations shall come and worship before you; for your judgments are made manifest. And after that I looked, and, behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened. And the seven angels came out of the temple, having the seven plagues, clothed in pure and white linen, and having their breasts girded with golden girdles. And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who lives for ever and ever. And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled”, and in chapter sixteen and verse one of Revelation John “heard a great voice out of the temple saying … pour out the vials” where we read:

And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels,
Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.

The verse reads, And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, ... John began with the words, “and I heard” which means “and John was given the faculty for hearing, perceived, discerned and discovered” “a great voice” or “a loud, massive and abundant tone or sound of uttered words, language and tongue” “out of the temple” which means “proceeding from the sacred edifice or sanctuary consisting of the Holy place and the Holy of Holies” “saying” or “uttering, proclaiming and declaring” “to the seven angels” which refers to “toward the seven messengers, envoys and ones sent”. John listened as a “loud voice” was directed toward the “seven angels with the seven vials” from God's temple.

The verse continues, “... Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.John added the words, “go your ways” which means “leave and depart”, “and pour out” or “and shed forth, bestow and distribute largely” “the vials” which means “the broad shallow bowls or deep saucers” “of the wrath” or “which hold the anger, indignation, fierceness and passion” “of God” which refers to “the Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit” “upon the earth” which means “on the arable land, country, territory and region”. John heard the “loud voice” direct the “seven angels” to “distribute largely” their “bowls” which were filled with God's “indignation and anger”.

When we meditate upon John's words in this verse, we can imagine the sound of this “loud voice” giving direction and instruction to the “seven angels”. They were to “pour out” their “bowls” which were filled with God's “wrath”, and the people within the “earth” would be the recipients of God's judgment. This ominous moment does not have to be experienced by anyone on the earth if they will simply receive Jesus Christ as their personal “Savior and Lord”. In other words, these destruction filled “vials” may be avoided by accepting Jesus today, and those who are wise will humble themselves and yield their lives to Him today.

Next time John sees “the first angel pour outhis “vial”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
