The Lord's Kingdoms of This World Revelation 11:15

John the apostle shared how God said, I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth”, and they were killed by the “beast from the bottomless pit”. John continued, “And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves. And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth. And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them. And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up here. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them. And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven. The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe comes quickly. ” In chapter eleven and verse fifteen of Revelation John shared how “the seventh angel sounded” and “voices in heaven, saying the kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ” where we read:

And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

The verse reads, And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, ... John began with the words, “and the seventh angel” which means “the seventh messenger, envoy and one sent” “sounded” or “blew and blasted his trumpet”; “and there were great voices” which means “there were loud, abundant and massive sounds and tones of uttered words” “in heaven” or “in the region above the sidereal heavens where the seat of order of things eternal and consummately perfect where God dwells and other heavenly beings”, “saying” which means “uttering, declaring and proclaiming”. When the “seventh angel” blew his trumpet, John heard “loud voices” in heaven making a declaration.

The verse continues, “The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. John added the words, “the kingdoms” which means “the royal powers, kingships, dominions and rules”, “of this world” or “pertaining to the earth” “are become” which means “are coming to pass and happening” “the kingdoms” or “the royal powers, kingships, dominions and rules” “of our Lord” which refers to “pertaining to he to whom a person or thing belongs, about which he has power of deciding; master and the title given to God the Messiah”, “and of his Christ” or “and of God's anointed One, Messiah and Son”; “and he shall reign” which means “and the Messiah will be king, exercise rule, influence and control” “for ever and ever” or “to the unbroken age, perpetuity of time and eternity”. John heard the declaration that “the world's kingdoms” were to be “the Lord and His Christ's” kingdom.

When we think through John's words in this verse, we see how the world and the “kings and rulers” within it are to belong to Jesus Christ. God Almighty will rule in the world, and though people will attempt to oppose Him, His kingdom and domain shall be fulfilled. God desires to have a relationship with every person through His Son Jesus, and those who submit to His way shall be a part of His “rule and reign” over the earth. May all who read these words receive the Messiah Jesus to whom this “world” and it's kingdoms belong.

Next time John shares how the “twenty-four elders” fell upon their faces, and worshiped God so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
