The Beasts Speaks Revelation 13:5

John the apostle shared how he, “stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. And they worshiped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshiped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? ”, and in chapter thirteen and verse five of Revelation John shared how the beast “was given a mouth speaking great things” where we read:

And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies;

and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

The verse reads, “And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies;” John began with the words, “and there was given” which means “” “unto him” or “to the antichrist” “a mouth” which means “the orifice in the face used for eating, drinking and speech” “speaking” or “uttering, proclaiming and declaring” “great things” which refers to “large, abundant things which are numerous and of grand scale” “and blasphemies” or “slanders, detractions, injurious and reproachful speeches against divine majesty”. John shared how “the beast or antichrist” was provided with a “voice” that spoke of “things of grand scale” as well as “slanderous and injurious words” against God.

The verse continues, “and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.” John added the words, “and power” which means “and strength, ability, liberty and authority” “was given unto him” or “was granted, bestowed, furnished and supplied to the beast” “to continue” which means “to cause, make ready, produce, prepare, construct, form and fashion for” “forty and two months” or “forty-two months or three and one half years”. John saw how “ability and strength” was provided to the “beast” for three and one half years.

When we meditate upon John's words in this verse, we see how the “beast or antichrist” was given the ability to “speak” about “great things” and against “God” for “three and one half years”. This time is equivalent to one half of the “tribulation” period which shall last for “seven years” upon the earth. The “antichrist” will seem to have all the “power and ability” he needs to rule over the earth and its inhabitants at that time, however, let us keep in mind that God knows and has control over all these things. Though “Satan” and his “counterfeit christ” shall be “worshiped” at this time, they have a limited time to work. God desires to save everyone from this time through a relationship with His Son Jesus, however, it is certain that many will not receive His offer. Let all who read these words not be among those who worship “the devil” and his “beast” and align themselves with God Almighty who knows and has control over all things.
