John
the apostle shared how God said,
“I
will give power
unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred
and
threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. These are the two olive trees,
and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth. And if
any man will hurt them, fire proceeds out of their mouth, and devours
their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner
be killed. These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the
days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to
blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they
will. And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast
that ascends out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them,
and shall overcome them, and kill them. And their dead bodies shall
lie
in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom
and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. And their dead bodies
shall
lie

and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies
three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be

these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth. And after
three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them,
and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which
saw them.”
In chapter eleven and verse twelve of Revelation John shared how the
“two
witnesses”
were told to
“come up here” where
we read:
And
they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up here.
And
they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.
The
verse reads, “And
they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up here.
”
John
began with the words, “and
they heard”
which means “and the two witnesses were given the faculty of
hearing, discerning, discovering and perceived” “a
great voice”
or “and large and abundant sound, tongue, language or tongue”
“from heaven”
which refers to “out and away from the region above the sidereal
heavens and the seat of order of things eternal and consummately
perfect where God dwells and other heavenly beings” “saying”
which means “uttering, declaring and proclaiming” “unto
them”
or “to the two witnesses”, “Come
up here”
which means “ascend, rise up and spring up to heaven”. John
shared how the “two
witnesses”
heard a “loud voice” from “heaven”
calling them to “come
there”.
The
verse continues, “And
they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld
them.”
John
added the words, “and
they ascended up”
which means “and the two witnesses rose, sprung and rose up” “to
heaven”
or “to the sidereal heavens and the seat of order of things eternal
and consummately perfect where God dwells and other heavenly beings”
“in
a cloud”
which means “within a cloud in the sky”; “and
their enemies”
or “and people who hated and were hostile toward the two
witnesses”
“beheld
them”
which means “looked at, perceived and saw the two witnesses”.
John saw the “two
witnesses”
rise up into “heaven”
within “a
cloud”
while the “two
witnesses' enemies”
watched them.
When
we think through John's words in this verse, we can imagine what a
surprise it will be for the “enemies” of the “two
witnesses” watched them rise from the dead. Though they were
dead for “three and a half days”, they will be called to “heaven”
by God, and they shall rise in a cloud. God Almighty desires for all
people to have a relationship with Him through His Son Jesus,
however, He has “enemies” who shall be amazed at the
miracles He shall perform before them.

“two
witnesses”
