John
the apostle shared how he, “stood
upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea,
having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and
upon his heads the name of blasphemy. And
the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as
the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the
dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority”,
and in chapter thirteen and verse three of Revelation John shared how
one of “the
beast's head” were
“as
it were wounded to death” where
we read:
And
I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death;
and
his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the
beast.
The
verse reads, “And
I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death;”
John
began with the words, “and
I saw”
which means “and John perceived, noticed, discovered and discerned”
“one
of his heads”
or “one of the beast's seven heads” “as
it were wounded”
which means “like or even as the beast's head was slain,
slaughtered, butchered and mortally wounded” “to
death”
or “to the separation of the soul and the body by which life on
earth is ended whether natural or violent”. John saw the “beast”
receive a “mortal wound” in one of his heads.
The
verse continues, “and
his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the
beast.”
John
added the words, “and
his deadly wound”
which means “and the beast's slain, slaughtered, butchered and
mortally wounded blow, stripe, heavy affliction and plague” “was
healed”
or “was cured and restored to health”: “and
all the world”
which means “and the whole earth, arable land, country, territory
and region” “wondered
after”
or “marveled and had an admiration of” “the
beast”
which means “the savage and ferocious animal or the antichrist”.
John saw how the “beast's” “heavy affliction and plague” was
“cured”, and this made the entire world “marvel” at the
“beast”.
When
we think through John's words in this verse, we see how the
“beast” or “antichrist” shall suffer a “wound”
to his head that shall be “deadly”. However, the “deadly
wound” shall be “healed” and all the world shall
“marvel” at him. The popularity of this man who comes upon the
scene shall be worldwide, and people shall follow him completely. God
knows this artificial “Christ” who shall be empowered by “Satan”
will rule over the world, and people shall be fooled by him. God
wants people to have a relationship with Him through His Son Jesus,
and no matter how popular or miraculous a person like this “beast”
shall be, only Jesus is capable to save people from their “sins”
and provide them with “everlasting life”.
