The Wine of God's Wrath and Indignation Revelation 14:10

After writing about the “beast or the antichrist” and “the dragon – the devil or Satan” being worshiped by people upon the earth, John the apostle wrote how a, “third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, and in chapter fourteen and verse ten of Revelation John he shares how those who worship the antichrist, “shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God” where we read:

The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

The verse reads, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; John began with the words, “the same” which means “the ones who worship the antichrist” “shall drink” or “will imbibe” “of the wine” which means “pertaining to the fiery wine “of the wrath” or “pertaining to the anger, heat, glow, ardor, passion, inflaming fierceness and indignation” “of God” which refers to “the Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit”, “which is poured out” or “that is mixed, mingled and filled” “without mixture” which means “unmixed, undiluted and pure” “into the cup” or “into the drinking vessel” “of his indignation” which means “pertaining to God's wrath and anger”. John heard the “third angel” declare how those who worship the “antichrist” will face the “wrath of God” which is immeasurable in quantity and fierceness.

The verse goes on to say, “and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb”. John continued with the words, “and he” which refers to “and the person who worships the antichrist” “shall be tormented” or “will be tortured, vexed with grievous pains, harassed and distressed” “with fire” which means “with fiery lightning” “and brimstone” or “divine incense or flashing sulfur”, “in the presence” which means “within the occupied place” “of the holy angels” which refers to “of the pure, morally blameless or religious and ceremonially consecrated messengers, envoys and ones sent”, “and in the presence” or “and within the occupied place” “of the Lamb” which refers to “pertaining to the little Lamb which represents Jesus”. John shared how the person who “worships” the “antichrist” and receives his “mark” will be “tortured” with “burning and flashing divine incense or sulfur” before Jesus' and “the holy angels”.

When we consider John's words in this verse, we discover the ominous nature this warning of the “third angel”. Woe be to those who receive the “mark of the beast” and “worship” the antichrist because their fate is to be “tormented” with “fire and brimstone” before Jesus and His “holy angels”. God does not want people to face this fate, and only by refusing His “salvation” plan through His Son Jesus shall people endure this awful destiny. Let all who read these words “take heed” and receive Jesus as their personal “Savior and Lord” before it is far too late.

Next time John saw how, “the smoke of their torment ascends up for ever and ever, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
