Another Angel Saying Babylon is Fallen Revelation 14:8

After writing about the “beast or the antichrist” and “the dragon - the devil or Satan” being worshiped by people upon the earth, John the apostle wrote, “And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters, and in chapter fourteen and verse eight of Revelation John saw “another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen” where we read:

And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen,
that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

The verse reads, And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen ... John began with the words, “and there followed” which means “and there joined as an attendant or accompanied the previous angel” “another angel” or “one other messenger, envoy or one sent”, “saying” which means “uttering, declaring or proclaiming” “Babylon” which means “confusion” and is “a very large and famous city, the residence of the Babylonian kings, situated on both banks of the Euphrates and allegorically means Rome as the most corrupt seat of idolatry and the enemy of Christianity” “is fallen” which means “descends from a higher place to a lower, is thrust down, come under judgment and condemnation”, “is fallen” or “descends from a higher place to a lower, is thrust down, come under judgment and condemnation”. John shared how this “angel” spoke specifically to “Babylon” or the “idolatrous system” of the world and declared “judgment and condemnation” upon them.

The verse continues, “ … that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.John added the words, “that great city” which refers to “the massive, abundant and large habitation or town”, “because” or “since, on account of and consequently” “she made” which means “Babylon formed, fashioned, furnished and supplied” “all nations” or “each, every the whole and everyone of the companies, troops, and multitudes associated or living together” “drink” which means “to imbibe” “of the wine” which refers to “pertaining to the fiery wine”, “of the wrath” or “of the passion, anger, heat, glow, ardor and boiling up” “of her fornication” which means “defilement of idolatry as incurred by eating the sacrifices offered to idols”. John heard this “angel” declare the reason for the “judgment” upon “Babylon” which was poured out upon “each and every nation” in the world because of their “spiritual fornication” or “idolatry”.

When we meditate John's words in this verse, we see how there will not be an exemption to any nation throughout the entire world. Everyone who has rejected God's offer of “salvation” through a relationship with His Son Jesus shall be “judged”. “Spiritual Fornication” takes place when anything other than God Himself through Jesus is chosen as the priority in one's life, and when people reject God for other “idols”, they shall not only be heralded by this “angel” but also shall suffer the “condemnation” for which he warns.

Next time John saw how people, shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God ”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
