Thrust in Your Sickle and Reap Revelation 14:15

After writing about the “beast or the antichrist” and “the dragon – the devil or Satan” being worshiped by people upon the earth, John the apostleheard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yes, says the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them. And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle, and in chapter fourteen and verse fifteen of Revelation John saw an another angel was told to, “thrust in your sickle, and reap” where we read:

And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in your sickle, and reap: for the time is come for you to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.

The verse reads, And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, ... John began with the words, “and another angel” which means “and one other messenger, envoy or one sent” “came out of” or “proceeded and departed from” “the temple” which means “the sacred place consisting of the Holy Place and the Holy of Holies”, “crying” or “vociferating or speaking” “with a loud voice” or “with a great, massive, large and abundant tone or sound of uttered words, language or tongue” “to him” or “to the One” “that sat” which means “who was seated, fixed and dwelt” “on the cloud” or “upon the brilliant, bright and shining cloud like in the sky”. John watched as “another angel” “departed from” the “temple” in heaven and shouted out to the “angel” who was “seated” upon the “brilliant cloud”.

The verse continues, “... Thrust in your sickle, and reap: for the time is come for you to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.John continued with the words, “thrust in” which means “dispatch, insert and send” “your sickle” or “the angel's pruning hook or hooked vine knife such as reapers and vinedressers use”, “and reap” which refers to “and harvest as when crops are cut down with a sickle”: “for the time” or “because and since the certain definite time or season fixed” “is come” which means “has arrived and appeared” “for you” which refers to “for the angel like the Son of man” “to reap” which means “to harvest as when crops are cut down with a sickle”; “for the harvest” or “because and since the act of reaping, gathering of men into the kingdom of God, the final judgment and when the righteous are gathered into the kingdom of God and the wicked are cast into hell for ever” “of the earth” which means “pertaining to the arable land, country, territory and region” “is ripe” or “is pined away, withered, shriveled and mature”. John heard the “angel” from the “temple” instruct the “angel like the Son of man” to “dispatch” His “pruning hook” because the “time for harvesting” has come.

When we think through John's words in this verse, we see how God used His “messengers” to carry out His purposes. The “time of harvest” for the earth during the “tribulation period” had come, and this other “angel...from the temple” gave instruction to “the angel like the Son of man” to “reap” those who “believe and trusted” in Him. In advance of the “reaping” time during the tribulation, God desires to “save” every person who will receive His Son Jesus as their personal “Savior and Lord”, but should there be ones reading these words during the tribulation time, receive Him today and He shall come for you in the “harvest” time.

Next time John watches as, “he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
