Judas Iscariot - Mark 3:19

Mark wrote how Jesus, “went up into a mountain, and called unto him whom he would: and they came unto him. And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach, And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils. And Simon he surnamed Peter. And James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and he surnamed them Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder. And Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Canaanite”, and in chapter three and verse nineteen of his book, Mark shares how Jesus added, “Judas Iscariot” to His list of disciples where we read:

And Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed him: and they went into an house.

The verse reads, “And Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed him: Mark began with the words, “and Judas” or “he shall be praised and was the apostle who betrayed Jesus” “Iscariot” which means “men of Kerioth”, “which also betrayed him” or “who even so and indeed delivered Jesus up to be judged, condemned, punished, scourged, tormented and put to death”. Mark shared how Jesus also “ordained” and chose “Judas Iscariot” to be one of His disciples.

The verse goes on to say, “and they went into an house.” Mark continued with the words “and they went” which means “and the disciples and Jesus made entrance” “into the house” which means “into a nearby dwelling place, abode or habitation”. Mark shared how Jesus and His disciples “entered” another “house” after He “ordained” them.

When we consider Mark's words in this verse, we see Jesus and His disciples entering into another “house” where they would receive nourishment and rest from their journeys. We gain a little glimpse of Jesus' routine by His making entrance into another home. Paul the apostle said, For in him we live, and move, and have our being” according to Acts chapter seventeen and verse twenty eight, and Jesus is available to all who reach out to Him. Let all who read these words yield their lives to Jesus and invite Him to dwell with them.

Next time Mark shares how, “the multitude came together again”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
