In Psalms eighty seven the Psalmist said, “The LORD shall count, when he writes up the people, that this man was born there. Selah” and in chapter eighty seven and verse seven of Psalms the Psalmist said, “the singers as the players on instruments shall be there” where we read,
As well the singers as the players on instruments shall be there: all my springs are in you.
The verse begins, “As well the singers as the players on instruments shall be there:” The Psalmist began with the words, “as well the singers” or “even so and indeed the songstresses or singing men and women” “as the players on instruments” which means “even the people who make music upon flutes or pipes” “shall be there” or “will be present within the city of Jerusalem”. The Psalmist referred to the “singers” and people who played flute and pipes and are located within the city of Jerusalem.
The verse continues, “all my springs are in you.” The Psalmist added the words, “all my springs” or “each, every, the whole and every one of the fountains and sources” “are in you” which means “exist within you, city of Jerusalem”. The Psalmist declared that each and everyone of his fountains and sources were within the city of Jerusalem.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn how David made reference to the musicians within the city of Jerusalem. Some were “singers”, and others played “instruments” like flutes or pipes. Jerusalem was the source of living for the Psalmist, and the music within the city added to it. In other words, there was worship in songs in Jerusalem even as there should be in every place Jehovah God is celebrated and honored. God sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and enjoy Him as the source of our living every day and throughout eternity.
Next time we begin a new chapter and see the Psalmist say, “I have cried day and night before you”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
