In Psalms chapter eighty five the Psalmist said, “Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other”, and in chapter eighty five and verse eleven of Psalms the Psalmist said, “truth shall spring out of the earth” where we read,
Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven.
The verse begins, “Truth shall spring out of the earth;” The Psalmist began with the words, “truth shall spring out” or “firmness, sureness, reliability, stability and continuance will sprout, grow up and bring forth” “out of the earth” which means “from the land, country, territory, district, region and world”. The Psalmist shared how sureness and reliability would sprout from the region where people reverence Jehovah God.
The verse continues, “and righteousness shall look down from heaven.” The Psalmist added the word, “righteousness” or “and justice, rightness, victory and prosperity” “shall look down” which means “will overlook, gaze and observe” “from heaven” or “from the visible sky, abode of the stars, the atmosphere and the dwelling of God”. The Psalmist said justice, rightness and prosperity would gaze down from the heavenly abode upon the people who were in awe of Jehovah.
When we think through the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist shared more of the benefits that are allotted to the people who revere and are in awe of Jehovah God. His “truth” sprouts from the land, and His “righteousness” observes the people from the sky. God desires to pour out His attributes upon people who put Him first in their lives (See Matthew 6:33), and He sent His Son Jesus into the world to be crucified for the sins of all mankind so we can have a personal relationship with Him. He loves us, and when we put our faith and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and fill us with His sureness and justice for all eternity.
Next time the Psalmist said, “yes, the LORD shall give that which is good”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
