The LORD Gives Good - Psalms 85:12

In Psalms chapter eighty five the Psalmist said, “Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other. Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven”, and in chapter eighty five and verse twelve of Psalms the Psalmist said, “yes, the LORD shall give that which is good” where we read,

Yes, the LORD shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase.

The verse begins, Yes, the LORD shall give that which is good; The Psalmist began with the words, “Yes, the LORD” or “even so and indeed, Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “shall give that which is good” which means “will grant, bestow, put, set, ascribe, consecrate and dedicate pleasant, agreeable, excellent, valuable and rich things”. The Psalmist shared how Jehovah God will grant and provide pleasant, valuable and rich things to the people who revere Him.

The verse goes on to say,and our land shall yield her increase. The Psalmist continued with the words, “and our land” or “and our, the Psalmist and the people of Israel's, ground, country, region, district and territory” “shall yield her increase” which means “will give, bestow, grant, ascribe, devote and consecrate fruit, produce or a crop”. The Psalmist said the ground of the people who revered Jehovah God would bring forth crops of fruit and produce.

When we consider the words in this verse, we see the Psalmist share how Jehovah God would assuredly provide that with is “pleasant” and agreeable to the people who are in awe of Him, and the ground upon which they live would provide an abundant crop. God desires to bless people who put their faith and trust in Him, and He sent His Son Jesus into the world to be crucified on the cross for the sins of all mankind so that anyone may come unto Him and be blessed. When we surrender to Jesus, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and bless us with His goodness, mercy and abundance all the days of our lives and throughout eternity. (See Psalm 23:6)

Next time the Psalmist said, “righteousness shall go before him”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
