In Psalms eighty nine Ethan the Psalmist shared how Jehovah God said, “Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David. His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me”, and in chapter eighty nine and verse thirty-seven of Psalms Ethan shared how Jehovah God said David's seed, “shall be established for ever” where we read,
It shall be established for ever as the moon, and as a faithful witness in heaven. Selah.
The verse begins, “It shall be established for ever as the moon,...” Ethan began with the words, “it shall be established” or “it, David's kingdom and rule, will be made firm, stable and firmly fixed” “for ever” which means “for long duration, unto perpetuity, perpetually, everlasting and unto continual existence” “as the moon” or “like and similar to the moon in the night sky”. Ethan continued to share how Jehovah God said David's kingdom and rule would be firmly fixed unto perpetuity.
The verse continues, “... and as a faithful witness in heaven. Selah.” Ethan added the words, “and as a faithful witness” or “and like and similar to a supported, confirmed, upheld and nourished recorder, testifier and one who gives evidence” “in heaven” which means “within small dust or powder within the sky”. “Selah” or “lift up, exalt and pause to meditate upon it”. Ethan shared how Jehovah God said He would firmly fix David's kingdom like unto the moon in the night sky and similar to the confirmed testifier within the dust of the sky, and everyone who reads and hears these words should pause to meditate upon them.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how Ethan shared the way Jehovah God said David's kingdom would be made firm like the moon in the night sky, and it would be like the supported recorder within the dust of the sky. In other words, what God said about David would be so. God keeps His word, and He desires to have a personal relationship with every person through His Son Jesus. When we believe and trust in Jesus as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and establish us within His eternal Kingdom forever and ever, and this idea is worthy of our meditation and remembrance.
Next time Ethan the Psalmist says to Jehovah God, “you have cast off and abhorred”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
