Deny Jesus and Be Denied - Luke 12:9

Luke the beloved physician wrote how Jesus said, “Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God”, and in chapter twelve and verse nine of his book Luke shared how Jesus told His disciples, “he that denies me before men shall be denied before the angels of God” where we read:

But he that denies me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.

The verse reads, “But he that denies me before men ... Luke began with the words, “but he that denies me” or “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover the person whether male or female who disregards, abnegates, abjures, rejects and does not accept Jesus” “before men” which means “in front of and in the presence of people whether male or female”. Luke shared how Jesus referred to the person who “rejects and refuses to accept” Him.

The verse continues, “... shall be denied before the angels of God.” Luke added the the words, “shall be denied” or “will be disregarded, abnegated, abjured, rejected and not accepted” “before the angels of God” which means “in front of and in the presence of the messengers and envoys belonging to the Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit”. Luke shared how Jesus said the person who “rejects” Him will be “rejected” before His Father God and His “messengers” and “envoys”.

When we think through Luke's words in this verse, we see how there is a direct relationships between the person who “refuses to accept” Jesus and His “accepting” them before His Father God and His “angels”. God wants people to receive His Son Jesus as their personal “Savior and Lord”, but if they refuse Him, He will “refuse” them before His “messengers” in Heaven. Those who are wise will carefully consider Jesus' words and never be known as the people who “refused to accept” the Son of the Living God.

Next time Luke shares how Jesus tells His disciples, “whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man” and “against the Holy Ghost”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
