Cutting Off the Horns of the Wicked - Psalms 75:10

In Psalms chapter seventy-five Asaph said, “in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he pours out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them. But I will declare for ever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob”, and in chapter seventy-five and verse ten of Psalms Asaph shared how Jehovah God said, all the horns of the wicked also will I cut offwhere we read,

All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.

The verse begins, All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off;” Asaph began with the words, “all the horns” or “each, every, the whole and everyone of the flasks and cornets which figuratively speak of power” “of the wicked” which means “belonging to the criminal, guilty of crime, evil and hostile to God” “also will I cut off” or “even so and indeed shall I, Jehovah God, chop down, hew and destroy”. Asaph shared how Jehovah God said He would hew down and destroy the power of the people who are criminal and hostile to God.

The verse continues, but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.” Asaph added the words, “but the horns” or “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover the flasks and cornets which figuratively speak of power” “of the righteous” which means “belonging to the right, lawful and correct” “shall be exalted” or “will exist as lofty, risen up and uplifted”. Asaph shared how Jehovah God said the power of people who are lawful and correct will be uplifted and risen up.

When we consider the words in this verse, we learn how Jehovah God would involve Himself in the lives of people who are evil and those who are lawful. God knows everything about everyone, and although it may appear that He does not know, care or even approves of a person's behavior, He is always apprised of their words, acts and deeds. Paul the apostle said, “there is none righteous, no, not one” (See Romans 3:10), and “all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (See Romans 3:23). He also wrote, “the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (See Romans 6:23). Because of this, God sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we believe and trust in Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and fill His position of judgment among those who are “wicked” and “righteous” before Him.

Next time we begin a new chapter and see Asaph say, In Judah is God known, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
