The LORD a Sun and Shield - Psalms 84:11

In Psalms chapter eighty four the Psalmist said, “Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of your anointed. For a day in your courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness”, and in chapter eighty four and verse eleven of Psalms the Psalmist said, “the LORD God is a sun and shield”, where we read,

For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory:

no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

The verse begins, For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: The Psalmist began with the words, “For the LORD God” or “because, since and on account that Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name of the One True Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God” “is a sun” which means “exists as an eastward sunrise” “and shield” or “and buckler or warrior for defense”: “the LORD” which means “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “will give grace” or “shall bestow, grant, ascribe, devote and consecrate acceptance, objective beauty and precious favor” “and glory” which means “and honor, abundance, splendor, riches and dignity”. The Psalmist said the Divine judge Jehovah God exists as an eastward sunrise and protective defense, and He will grant precious favor and honor to people who are as follows.

The verse goes on to say,no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. The Psalmist continued with the words, “no good thing” or “not one pleasant, agreeable, excellent, rich, appropriate valuable” “will he withhold” which means “shall he, Jehovah God, hold, keep back, deny or restrain” “from them that walk uprightly” or “separate and apart from the people who amble about and make their way complete, sound, healthful, unimpaired and innocent”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God would not hold back anything that is excellent and appropriate in value to people who make their way in an unimpaired and innocent manner.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist said Jehovah God exists as an eastern sunrise and protective defense who gives pleasant favor and abundance to the people who manage their lives in an unimpaired and innocent manner. In other words, Jehovah God desires to provide and protect people who align with Him and His ways. God sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and bless us with His precious grace and appropriate valuables forever and ever.

Next time the Psalmist says, “O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusts in you”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
