In Psalms chapter eighty four the Psalmist said, “the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly”, and in chapter eighty four and verse twelve of Psalms the Psalmist said, “O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusts in you”, where we read,
O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusts in you.
The verse begins, “O LORD of hosts, ...” The Psalmist began with the words, “O LORD” or “O Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name of the One True God”, “of hosts” which means “over the army of angels, messengers or envoys”. The Psalmist called upon Jehovah God who reigns over angels and envoys.
The verse continues, “... blessed is the man that trusts in you.” The Psalmist added the words, “blessed is the man” or “O how happy and prosperous exists the person whether male or female” “that trusts in you” which means “who has confidence, boldness and security within you, Jehovah God”. The Psalmist said the person who has confidence within Jehovah God exists as O how happy.
When we think through the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist concluded this Psalm by stating again how Jehovah God makes the person who has confidence in Him “blessed” or “O how happy” and prosperous in this world and the next. God's desire is to have everyone with Him for all eternity, and He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind so when we believe and trust in Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and bless us forever. Let Jehovah God be praised, honored and glorified for His wonderful provision for all who believe.
Next time we begin a new chapter and see the Psalmist say, “LORD, you have been favorable unto your land”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
