In Psalms chapter seventy-two David said, “The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts”, and in chapter seventy-two and verse eleven of Psalms David said, “all kings shall fall down before him” where we read,
Yes, all kings shall fall down before him: all nations shall serve him.
The verse begins, “Yes, all kings shall fall down before him:” David began with the words, “yes, all the kings” or “even so, also and indeed, each, every, the whole and everyone of the royal rulers” “shall fall down” which means “will humbly bow down in obeisance and reverence” “before him” or “in front and in the presence of the royal ruler”. David affirmatively declared that every royal ruler in the world would bow down to worship in the presence of the royal ruler.
The verse continues, “all nations shall serve him.” David added the words, “all nations” or “each, every, the whole and everyone of the people groups in the world” “shall serve him” which means “will be compelled to labor and work for him, the royal ruler”. David said every people group in the world would labor and work for the royal ruler.
When we think through the words in this verse, we see how David knew when Jehovah God blessed his son, all the royal rulers and people of the world will prostrate themselves before him and labor and work for him. This shall be fulfilled when every person bows before Jesus Christ and proclaims that He is Lord. (See Romans 14:11) God wants all people both royal and otherwise to surrender to His Son Jesus as their “Savior and Lord”, and when we realize He came to die on the cross for our sins, we may believe and trust in Him to be forgiven of our sins and granted everlasting life with God. Our opportunity to bow down before Jesus is now, but should we refuse, we will eventually prostrate ourselves in His presence and declare that He is Lord.
Next time David says, “he shall deliver the needy when he cries”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
