In Psalms chapter seventy-five Asaph said, “Unto you, O God, do we give thanks, unto you do we give thanks: for that your name is near your wondrous works declare”, and in chapter seventy-five and verse two of Psalms Asaph shared how Jehovah God said, “When I shall receive the congregation” where we read,
When I shall receive the congregation I will judge uprightly.
The verse begins, “When I shall receive the congregation ...” Asaph began with the words, “When I shall receive” or “at the time and moment I, Jehovah God, will fetch, lay hold of, seize and acquire” “the congregation” which means “the appointed meeting and gathering”. Asaph referred to the proclamation of Jehovah God concerning the gathering of people in an assembly.
The verse continues, “... I will judge uprightly.” Asaph added the words, “I will judge” or “I, Jehovah God, shall govern, vindicate, rule and discriminate” “uprightly” which means “in evenness, straightness, equity and smoothness”. Asaph shared how Jehovah God stated that He would govern and rule in a straight and equitable way when He acquires the assembly of people.
When we think through the words in this verse, we learn through Asaph how Jehovah God is a just God, and His judgment are true, equitable and right. There will be a day when all people are gathered before Him, and everyone will give an account of what they have done in their bodies. (See Revelation 20:12). God knows every person has missed his mark, sinned, and the wages of sin is death. (See Romans 3:10,23; 6:23). He sent His Son Jesus into the world so people could be rescued from the penalty of eternal separation from Him, and when we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and bring correct judgment upon everyone who dwells on the earth.
Next time Asaph says, “The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
