In Psalms chapter seventy-four Asaph said of Jehovah God, “The day is yours, the night also is yours: you have prepared the light and the sun”, and in chapter seventy-four and verse seventeen of Psalms Asaph said, “you have set all the borders of the earth” where we read,
You have set all the borders of the earth: you have made summer and winter.
The verse begins, “You have set all the borders of the earth:” Asaph began with the words, “you have set all the borders” or “you, Divine judge Jehovah God, have stationed, appointed, perfected and erected each, every, the whole and everyone of the boundaries” “of the earth” which means “belonging to the world”. Asaph shared how Jehovah God established every boundary in the world.
The verse continues, “you have made summer and winter.” Asaph added the words, “you have made summer” or “you, Divine judge Jehovah God, have fashioned, purposed and framed the summer season” “and winter” which means “and the autumn, harvest time or winter season”. Asaph referred to the way Jehovah God fashion and framed the “summer and winter” times of the year.
When we think through the words in this verse, we see how Asaph continued to speak of the powers of Jehovah God. All the boundaries in the world were established by Him, and the seasons of the year were within His power. This powerful Almighty God desires to have a personal relationship with every person through His Son Jesus, and He sent Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. Anyone who believes and trusts in Him as their personal “Savior and Lord” will be forgiven of their sins and granted everlasting life with Him. Let us give honor, glory and praise to Jehovah God and His Son Jesus for not only creating the world, but also loving us enough to be with us for all eternity.
Next time Asaph says, “remember this, that the enemy has reproached, O LORD”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
