In Psalms chapter seventy-two David said of the royal ruler, “he shall deliver the needy when he cries; the poor also, and him that has no helper. He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy”, and in chapter seventy-two and verse fourteen of Psalms David said, “he shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence” where we read,
He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall their blood be in his sight.
The verse begins, “He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence:” David began with the words, “He shall redeem their soul” or “He, the royal ruler, will avenge, ransom and do the part of a kinsman to the inner man, heart, mind, living being, desires and seat of emotions and passions of the people” “from deceit” which means “separate and apart from injury, oppression and fraud” “and violence” or “and wrong, cruelty, injustice and unrighteousness”. David said the royal ruler would avenge and ransom the inner man, heart and mind of the poor and needy from injury, oppression, fraud, injustice and unrighteousness.
The verse goes on to say, “and precious shall their blood be in his sight.” David continued with the words, “and precious” or “and esteemed, prized, valuable, costly and esteemed” “shall be their blood” which means “will exist the bloodshed of the poor and needy” “in his sight” or “within his, the royal ruler's, vision and mental and spiritual faculties”. David said the bloodshed of the poor and needy would be valuable to the spiritual and mental faculties of the royal ruler.
When we think through the words in this verse, we see how David said the royal ruler would ransom the inner man, heart and mind of the poor and needy, and their bloodshed would be valuable in his vision. God loves people, and He sent His Son Jesus into the world to be crucified on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we surrender our lives to Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and give us the ability to care for and value people who suffer from “deceit and violence”.
Next time David says, “he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
