My tongue Talking of God's Righteousness - Psalms 71:24

In Psalms chapter seventy-one David said to Jehovah God, “My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto you; and my soul, which you have redeemed, and in chapter seventy-one and verse twenty-four of Psalms David said, “My tongue also shall talk of your righteousness all the day long” where we read,

My tongue also shall talk of your righteousness all the day long:

for they are confounded, for they are brought unto shame, that seek my hurt.

The verse begins, My tongue also shall talk of your righteousness all the day long: David began with the words, “my tongue” or “my, David's, wedge in his mouth used for speaking” “also shall talk” which means “ even so and indeed will utter, speak, meditate and roar” “of your righteousness” or “pertaining to your, Jehovah God's, rightness, justice, justification and salvation” “all the day long” which means “throughout the whole and entire sunrise to sunset”. David said he would use the “tongue” in his mouth to speak of the rightness and justice of Jehovah God throughout the entire daytime.

The verse goes on to say,for they are confounded, for they are brought unto shame, that seek my hurt. David continued with the words, “for they are confounded” or “because, since and on account that they, the following people, exist as put to shame, disconcerted and disappointed”, “for they are brought unto shame” which means “because, since and on account that they, the following people, exist as abashed, embarrassed and brought to confusion”, “that seek my hurt” or “the people who search for, demand, require and exact my, David's, bad, evil, disagreeableness, malignancy and displeasure”. David said the reason he would speak of God's justification and rightness was because people who desired his malignancy and displeasure were disappointed and confused.

When we consider the words in this verse, we see how David knew Jehovah God caused those who opposed him to be put to shame and confused. This caused him to employ his “tongue” to cry out to Jehovah God in songs of praise and honor. David loved God because God first loved him, and God loves us as well. He sent His Son Jesus to be crucified for the sins of all mankind, and when we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and contend with our enemies until we break out with our “tongues” in songs of praise and honor to Him.

Next time we begin a new chapter and see David say, “Give the king your judgments, O God”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
