In Psalms chapter seventy-one David said to Jehovah God, “when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have showed your strength unto this generation, and your power to every one that is to come”, and in chapter seventy-one and verse nineteen of Psalms David said, “your righteousness also, O God, is very high, who has done great things” where we read,
Your righteousness also, O God, is very high, who have done great things:
O God, who is like unto you!
The verse begins, “Your righteousness also, O God, is very high, who have done great things:” David began with the words, “your righteousness also” or “your, Jehovah God's, rightness, justice, truthfulness, justification and salvation”, “O God” which means “O Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God”, “is very high” or “exists as exceedingly elevated and far upward and above”, “who have done great things” which means “who have fashioned, accomplished, made and produced acts and deeds which are large in magnitude and intensity”. David exalted the justice and rightness of the Divine judge Jehovah God as he referred to His numerous acts and deeds.
The verse continues, “O God, who is like unto you!” David added the words, “O God” or “O Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God”, “who is like unto you” which means “what person exists similar and in likeness to you, Divine judge Jehovah God”. David emphatically stated that there exists no one in likeness to the Divine judge Jehovah God.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn how David praised Jehovah God by making declarations concerning His “justice, numerous acts and non-comparative nature”. God is just. God does great things, and God is beyond compare. He sent His Son Jesus into the world to be crucified for the sins of all mankind. When we humble ourselves, repent of our sins and invite Him into our hearts, He will forgive our sins and grant us everlasting life. (See Romans 10:9-10) Let us give reverence, honor and worship to Jehovah God for His uplifted righteousness, numerous works and His existence beyond compare.
Next time David says, “you, which have showed me great and sore troubles”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
