Delivering the Needy When He Cries - Psalms 72:12

In Psalms chapter seventy-two David said, “The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts. Yes, all kings shall fall down before him: all nations shall serve him”, and in chapter seventy-two and verse twelve of Psalms David said, “he shall deliver the needy when he cries” where we read,

For he shall deliver the needy when he cries; the poor also, and him that has no helper.

The verse begins, For he shall deliver the needy when he cries; David began with the words, “for he shall deliver” or “because, since and on account that he, the royal ruler, will rescue, snatch away, liberate and save” “the needy” which means “people in want, subject to oppression, abuse and destitute” “when he cries” or “at the time and moment he, the people who are in want, subject to oppression, abuse and destitute, halloo, shout and cry aloud”. David said the reason people from around his region would prostrate themselves before the royal ruler is because he rescued and saved the people who are destitute when they shouted aloud.

The verse goes on to say,the poor also, and him that has no helper. David continued with the words, “the poor also” or “the afflicted, humble and lowly even so and indeed”, “and him that has no helper” which means “and him, the person whether male or female, who exists without anyone to succor, give aid or support to them”. David said the royal ruler would also rescue the people who are afflicted, humble and lowly as well as those who had no one to give them aid.

When we consider the words in this verse, we see how David declared how the royal ruler would rescue and save people who were in want, subject to oppression and abused , and he would care for the humble and afflicted who have no one else to give them aid. David knew when Jehovah God blessed his son Solomon to rule, he would care for the people in his kingdom who were in want and afflicted. God cares so much for people that He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die for their sins, and when they yield themselves to Him, He will forgive their sins and inherit everlasting life with Him. Everyone is invited, and Jesus may be received by confessing with our mouth the Lord Jesus, and believing in our hearts that God has raised him from the dead, and we shall be saved. (See Romans 10:9-10)

Next time David says, “he shall spare the poor and needy”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
