God Led His People - Psalms 77:20

In Psalms chapter seventy-seven Asaph said, “Your way is in the sea, and your path in the great waters, and your footsteps are not known”, and in chapter seventy-seven and verse twenty of Psalms Asaph said to Jehovah God, you led your people like a flock” where we read,

You led your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

The verse begins, You led your people like a flock ... Asaph began with the words, “you led your people” or “you, Jehovah God, guided, governed over and straitened your, Jehovah God's, human beings both male and female” “like a flock” which means “similar and in likeness to a fold of sheep or goats”. Asaph referred to how Jehovah God guided His “people” in a similar manner to a fold of sheep or goats.

The verse goes on to say,... by the hand of Moses and Aaron. Asaph continued with the words, “by the hand of Moses” or “through the means of the physical hand of strength, power and authority belonging to Moses whose name means drawing out and was the great prophet, lawgiver and the leader of the exodus” “and Aaron” which means “and Aaron whose name means light bringer and was the brother of Moses, a Levite and the first high priest”. Asaph said Jehovah God employed the power and authority of “Moses and Aaron” to guide His people.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how Asaph referred to the time when Jehovah God lead the people of Israel out of Egypt and toward the promise land. “Moses and Aaron” were God's men who gave the people of Israel His direction as they wandered through the wilderness. God continues to use people today, and because His power is within them, there are many people who become conduits through which the spirit of God flows. God loves people, and His desire is to have a personal relationship with everyone through His Son Jesus. He sent Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind because those sins kept us separated from Him. When we yield our lives to Jesus, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and guide us according to His will in this world.

Next time we begin a new chapter and see Asaph say, Give ear, O my people, to my law, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
