Remembering God and Troubled - Psalms 77:3

In Psalms chapter seventy-seven Asaph said, “I cried unto God with my voice, even unto God with my voice; and he gave ear unto me. In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord: my sore ran in the night, and ceased not: my soul refused to be comforted”, and in chapter seventy-seven and verse three of Psalms Asaph said, I remembered God, and was troubledwhere we read,

I remembered God, and was troubled: I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah.

The verse begins, I remembered God, and was troubled: Asaph began with the words, “I remembered God” or “I, Asaph, recalled and brought to mind the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God”, “and was troubled” which means “and existed as disquieted, moved, raged and in a tumult”. Asaph said he called to mind the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God and became disquieted and in a tumult over his thoughts.

The verse continues,I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah. Asaph added the words, “I complained” or “I, Asaph, murmured, communed, pondered, mused and made declarations”, “and my spirit” which means “and my, Asaph's, mind, breath, vivacity and vigor” “was overwhelmed” or “existed as faint, feeble, swooned and covered over”. “Selah” which means “uplift, exalt and pause to meditate upon it”. Asaph murmured over his condition, and his vigor became covered over. This idea is worthy of pausing and meditating upon it.

When we consider the words in this verse, we learn how Asaph recalled the Divine judge Jehovah God and was disquieted within his soul. He murmured as his vivacity and vigor became faint and swooning. He desired everyone who was reading his words to pause and mediate upon this idea because everyone experiences distresses and troubles. God loves people, and their greatest problem is their separation from Him because sin exists within them. God sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and cause us to remember and rely upon Him when troubles and distresses arrive.

Next time Asaph says, you hold my eyes waking, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
