Those
who believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord now have
“boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of
Jesus” according to the writer
of Hebrews, and in chapter ten and verse twenty of Hebrews the
writer shares about “a
new and living way” where we read:
By a new
and living way, which he has consecrated for us, through the veil,
that is to say, his flesh;
The
verse begins, “By
a new and living way, which he has consecrated for us,...”.
The writer
began with the words, “By a new”
which means “through a recent” “and
living way”
or “active, blessed and endless in the kingdom of God pass and
manner of acting”, “which he has”
or “that God has” “consecrated”
or
“dedicated, renewed, initiate and done anew” “for
us” which
refers to the Hebrew writer and his readers. Because Jesus died for
the “sins”
of people, He provided a “dedicated and renewed” “recent and
active” “way”
for “us”.
The
verse continues, “... through the
veil, that is to say, his flesh;”. The
writer added the words, “through”
or “by way
of the ground, reason or account by which something is or is not
done”, “the veil” or
“spread out curtain which referred to the one that separates the
Holy of Holies from the Holy Place” “that
is to say”
which means “speaking of”, “his
flesh”
which refer to “Jesus' the
soft substance of the living body which covers the bones and is
permeated with blood”.
The access Jesus provided through offering His “flesh” gave us
“entrance” to the Holy of Holies where God dwells.
When
we meditate upon these words in Hebrews, we see there is a “new”,
“living” and active way for us to have access to God.
Jesus gave His life on the cross and thereby provided entry for us
into the “Holy of Holies” to enjoy a relationship with
Him. No one else has done or will do this for us. God Almighty
desires for us to be intimate with Him, and Jesus paid the price for
this to be. Now we, through His “flesh”, are able to
personally relate with God.
Next
time the writer shares about “having
a high priest over the house of God”,
so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
