Perfected For Ever Them that are Sanctified Hebrews 10:14

Jesus, according to the writer of Hebrews, shared how Jesus “sat down on the right hand of God” after “he had offered one sacrifice for sins”, and from that time forward, Jesus is “expecting till his enemies be made his footstool”. In chapter ten and verse fourteen of Hebrews the writer shared how Jesus by “one offering” has “perfected for ever them that are sanctified” where we read:

For by one offering he has perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

The verse begins, For by one offering he has perfected...”. The writer began with the word, “For” or “even as, indeed, no doubt, seeing then, verily and therefore” “by one offering” which means “only one presentation, oblation and sacrifice” “he has perfected” or “completed, accomplished, finished and brought to an end”.

The verse goes on to say, “...for ever them that are sanctified.”. The writer added the words, “for ever” or “continuously and evermore” “them” which refers to “people who believe in Jesus the great high priest” “that are sanctified” or “rendered, acknowledge, venerate, hallow, consecrate and dedicated”. Jesus' sacrifice constantly “perfects” the ones He “rendered hallow”.

When we meditate upon these words in Hebrews, we see the effect Jesus had upon those who believe in Him. There is a perpetual “perfection” for those who are “sanctified” by Jesus Christ's “one time” “sacrifice”. The offerings of the “earthly priests” were never able to “cleanse and purge” from sins, but Jesus “sanctified” or “consecrated and dedicated” people to God forever who shall live and dwell “eternally” with Him.

Next time the writer shares how “the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
