“By one
offering” Jesus “has
perfected for ever them that are sanctified”
according to the writer of Hebrews, and in chapter ten and
verse fifteen of Hebrews the writer shared
how“the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us” where
we read:
The
verse begins, “Whereof
the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us:”. The
writer began with the word, “Whereof”
which means
“but, moreover and now” “the Holy
Ghost” which
refers to “the most sacred, blameless, and religiously,
ceremonially consecrated third person of the triune God who is
coequal and coeternal with the Father and the Son” “also
is a witness”
or “even and indeed is one who affirms that he has seen, heard or
experienced something or who knows it by divine revelation or
inspiration” “to us”
which refers to the writer and his readers.
“The Holy Ghost”
of God “affirms” what is about to be declared to us.
The
verse continues, “for after that he had said before.”
The writer added the words, “for
after” or “even as, indeed,
no doubt, seeing then, verily and therefore behind and following”
“that he had said before”
or “already spoke, shared, foretold and prophesied”. The writer
has more to say about what the “The Holy Ghost”
will bear “witness”, and he acknowledged these things had already
been “said” previously.
When
we think through these words in Hebrews, we see how the third person
of the trinity, the “Holy Ghost”, also “bore witness”
to what God promised in Jesus Christ. Now not only do the Heavenly
Father and Jesus the Son of God “testify” concerning the
“ultimate sacrifice”, but the “Holy Ghost” does as
well. Jesus became the “perfect” offering before God which
change the opportunity we have to be in a relationship with the
Heavenly Father, and those who believe in Jesus as their personal
“Lord and Savior” have the promise they shall obtain “everlasting
life” with Him.
Next
time the writer shares how God said, “I
will put my laws into their hearts and in their mind will I write
them”,
so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
