Cast not a look upon their face
or thus thou must relate
turn forth your eyes and look away
expressions on their pate
And mark them false as thus they be
look up look down look side
lest thou expose their devious ways
reveal in them their lies
The pain the hurt their life concedes
the troubles deep within
where all can see without reprieve
the wages of their sin
The lines the wrinkles fretted brow
forged by life's greatest pains
hath made their countenance amiss
that cannot be regained
Is this the best that can be borne
the visage quite forlorn
where life puts forth it's brand on thee
and marks thee greatly worn
And yet contrast the sweetened face
of one whose gaze casts long
into the eyes of Savior's ways
the right forsaking wrong
And brightened be their facial traits
with purity sublime
where thou can look upon their face
reflecting Godly time
