Mary's Spirit Rejoicing - Luke 1:47

Luke the physician wrote how Elisabeth began to “bless” her younger cousin Mary after she heard that Mary was pregnant with the Son of God and Messiah. Luke continued by sharing Mary's response, “And Mary said, My soul does magnify the Lord, ..., and in chapter one and verse forty-seven Luke shared how Mary says, “my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior” where we read:

And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.

The verse reads, “And my spirit has rejoiced ... Luke began with the words, “and my spirit” or “and Marys vital principal and power by which human beings feel, think and decide” “has rejoiced” which means “jumped for joy and was glad with exceeding joy”. Luke shared how Mary said her “spirit” was put into a “exceedingly joyful” state.

The verse goes on to say, “... in God my Savior.” Luke continued with the words, “in God” which means “within the Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit” “my Savior” or “who was Mary's deliverer and preserver”. Luke shared how Mary was “exceedingly joyful” toward “God Almighty” who Mary considered to be her “deliverer”.

When we consider Luke's words in this verse, we discover how experience affected Mary's “spirit”. She became “exceedingly joyful” toward “God”, whom she considered to be her “Savior”, when she understood the blessing that had been extended to her. God desires to have a personal relationship with every person through His Son Jesus, and when they submit their lives to His “Lordship”, they too will be inspired to give “glory and praise” unto their “Savior God”.

Next time Luke shares how Mary says, “he has regarded the low estate of his handmaiden”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
