One doth take note of changing times
well guarded men of ilk
whose word did run to dignity
where truth did never bilk
The care the hope the dream the love
of others more than self
denying lies protective guides
preserving mystic delph
Where bygone days of self-respect
ne'er vanished from the earth
and none did care nor dare compare
the value of his worth
Of character without a flaw
the undenying part
integrity the most import
did reign within his heart
And none abandoned truthful aid
nor e'er forget the truth
not one forsake to yet comply
have need for well known sleuth
But all did seek to well preserve
what others knew and thought
that without lie or willful gain
this one could not be bought
And thus alas the bygone age
where dignity did reign
and all were swift to run to live
with attributes unstained
