The apostle John wrote, “Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end. And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him”, and in chapter thirteen and verse three of his book John shared how Jesus knew, “that the Father had given all things into his hands” where we read:
Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands,
and that he was come from God, and went to God;
The verse reads, “Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, ...” John began with the words, “Jesus knowing” which means “the Son of God, the Savior of mankind and God incarnate whose name means Jehovah is Salvation perceiving, understanding, discovering and discerning” “that the Father” or “that His Heavenly Father God” “had given all things” which means “bestowed, furnished, supplied and granted each, every, the whole and everyone of the things and whatsoever” “into his hands” or “into Jesus' help, means, activity and power”. John shared how Jesus understood that His “Father God” bestowed upon Him “all” means, activities and power.
The verse continues, “... and that he was come from God, and went to God;” John added the words, “and that he was come from God” which means “and that he, Jesus, arose and appeared apart from God the Father”, “and went to God” or “and left and departed toward God the Father”. John shared how Jesus knew He appeared on the earth from God the Father and also was to depart to Him again.
When we meditate upon John's words in this verse, we learn how Jesus understood that God the Father granted to Him “everything” that was needed to redeem mankind, that He was dispatched by God Himself to the earth and was to depart toward God. God had a plan to “save” mankind from their sins so they could live with Him forever, and when Jesus purposed to “die” on the cross, those who surrender their life to Him will be forgiven of their sins and inherit everlasting life with God. Let all who read these words understand and believe.
Next time we see John share how Jesus, “took a towel, and girded himself”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
