A Desolate Habitation - Psalms 69:25

In Psalms chapter sixty nine David said, “Reproach has broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: and I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none. They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink. Let their table become a snare before them: and that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap. Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins continually to shake. Pour out your indignation upon them, and let your wrathful anger take hold of them”, and in chapter sixty-nine and verse twenty-five of Psalms David said, “let their habitation be desolate” where we read,

Let their habitation be desolate; and let none dwell in their tents.

The verse begins, Let their habitation be desolate; David began with the words, “let their habitation” or “allow and permit their, David's hating foes' encampment, battlement, walled camp, castle, fortress or hamlet” “be desolate” which means “exist as appalled, stunned, stupefied and awestruck”. David wanted Jehovah God to allow the encampment and fortress to be stupefied and awestruck.

The verse continues, and let none dwell in their tents. David added the words, “and let none dwell” or “and allow and permit not one of David's enemies to remain, abide and stay” “in their tents” which means “within their tabernacles, coverings or homes”. David appealed to God to not allow his enemies to abide or live within their homes.

When we think through the words in this verse, we see how David wanted Jehovah God to spoil the encampments and homes of his enemies. David knew God would hear his appeal, and no one could attend to his hating foes like Him. God loves us, and He knows when we face opposition that is odious. He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for our sins, and yet, He faced opposition even though He was the “Savior” of the world. When we submit to Jesus, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and attend to the encampments and homes of any hating foes who rise up against us.

Next time David says, “they persecute him whom you have smitten”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
