God Knows My Reproach - Psalms 69:19

In Psalms chapter sixty nine David said to Jehovah God, “Draw near unto my soul, and redeem it: deliver me because of my enemies”, and in chapter sixty-nine and verse nineteen of Psalms David said, “you have known my reproach” where we read,

You have known my reproach, and my shame, and my dishonor: my adversaries are all before you.

The verse begins, You have known my reproach, and my shame, and my dishonor: David began with the words, “you have known my reproach” or “you, Jehovah God, have understood, perceived, noticed and discerned my, David's, taunting and scorn”, “and my shame” which means “and my, David's, confusion, feelings and cause of disgrace”, “and my dishonor” or “and my, David's ignominy and insult”. David told Jehovah God that He understood his disgrace, insult and ignominy.

The verse continues,my adversaries are all before you. David added the words, “my adversaries” or “my, David's, binding, afflicting, distressing and troublesome enemies” “are all before you” which means “are each, every, the whole and everyone in front, in the face and within the sight and presence of you, Jehovah God”. David declared every one of his enemies to be before the face of Jehovah God.

When we consider the words in this verse, we see how David knew that Jehovah God was aware of the taunting, scorn, confusion and disgrace he was encountering, and David understood that all of his enemies were before the face of God. In other word, God saw and perceived David's plight. God is all-knowing, and there is nothing that escapes His view. He knew mankind was sinful, and He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for the sins of everyone. When we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and observe every situation and adversary that rises against us. Let us give God praise, honor and glory for not only being aware, but also ready to give us aid in our time of need.

Next time David says, “reproach has broken my heart”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
