What chance be there upon one day
when Pride appeared on scene
that he would find opportune time
confront Humility
Pride's arrogant and chesty boast
put forth to Humble's mind
his steadfast speech of perfect ways
need never be aligned
For thus did Pride need not to learn
for he doth know it all
Humility an open book
whose eyes observed him small
The beaming swell and stoney heart
within Pride's wretched soul
believed himself more valuable
than Humble's modest roll
With head bent low Humble appeared
inferior and crushed
to stand before Pride's strong-willed boast
vain gloried self filled thrust
Though I be low Humble did speak
his modest soul in tact
with broken heart cried out to God
who'd judge Pride's steadfast act
And though said Humble I in need
spirit dependent true
tis I who God will soon exalt
abasing Prideful rue
