In Psalms chapter sixty eight David said, “Rebuke the company of spearmen, the multitude of the bulls, with the calves of the people, till every one submit himself with pieces of silver: scatter you the people that delight in war”, and in chapter sixty-eight and verse thirty-one of Psalms David said, “Princes shall come out of Egypt” where we read,
Princes shall come out of Egypt; Ethiopia shall soon stretch out her hands unto God.
The verse begins, “Princes shall come out of Egypt;” David began with the words, “Princes shall come out” or “ambassadors or wealthy and capacious nobles will arrive and arise out” “of Egypt” which means “from Egypt whose name means land of the Copts and was a country at the northeastern section of Africa, adjacent to Palestine and through which the Nile flows”. David said wealthy nobles would arise out of the country of “Egypt”.
The verse goes on to say, “Ethiopia shall soon stretch out her hands unto God.” David continued with the word, “Ethiopia” or “Cush whose name means black and was the land occupied by the descendants of Cush located around the southern parts of the Nile” “shall soon stretch out her hands” which means “will run swiftly, divide speedily and hastily bring her, Ethiopia's, physical hands” “unto God” or “toward the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God”. David said the country of “Ethiopia” would swiftly extend their hands toward the Divine judge Jehovah God.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how David referred to the wealthy nobles who would arise from the country of “Egypt” and the people of “Ethiopia” who would raise their “hands” toward Jehovah God. When God shares His power with people all over the world, they will eventually bow their knees and declare that Jesus is Lord. (See Romans 14:11; Philippians 2:11) God loves everyone, and He wants them to live with Him forever. They have sin in their lives which separates them from a relationship with Him, and He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross to pay the penalty for those sins. When we put our faith and trust in Him, He will forgive our sins and grant us everlasting life with Him where we shall come before His throne, raise our hands and give Him praise forever.
Next time David says, “Sing unto God, you kingdoms of the earth”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
