In Psalms chapter sixty eight David said, “Because of your temple at Jerusalem shall kings bring presents unto you”, and in chapter sixty-eight and verse thirty of Psalms David said, “rebuke the company of spearmen” where we read,
Rebuke the company of spearmen, the multitude of the bulls, with the calves of the people,
till every one submit himself with pieces of silver: scatter you the people that delight in war.
The verse begins, “Rebuke the company of spearmen, the multitude of the bulls, with the calves of the people, ...” David began with the words, “Rebuke the company of spearmen” or “chide, reprove and correct the lively and active community hiding within the reeds, beams, shafts and branches”, “the multitude of the bulls” which means “the congregation and gathering pertaining to the mighty, valiant and chiefest”, “with the calves of the people” or “alongside the nearly grown bullocks belonging to the human beings both male and female”. David wanted Jehovah God to reprove and correct the active community of warriors who were like assembled mature and young bullocks among the people.
The verse continues, “... till every one submit himself with pieces of silver: scatter you the people that delight in war.” David added the words, “till every one” or “until each, every, the whole and all” “submit himself” which means “humbles and stamps themselves down” “with pieces of silver” or “with fragments of silver metal or money”: “scatter you the people” which means “spread abroad and disperse the human beings both male and female” “that delight in war” or “who take pleasure in, are pleased with, move and bent down within hostile encounter and battle”. David wanted Jehovah God to oppose and disperse these gathering “spearmen” who took pleasure in hostile encounters and battles until they became humbled tributes with silver pieces in their hands.
When we consider the words in this verse, we see how David turned opposing foes over to Jehovah God. David knew God could subdue and humble his enemies, and there was no greater opponent to them than God Himself. God's desire is to have a personal relationship with every person, and He proved His love when He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we submit to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and humble every enemy who gathers themselves against us.
Next time David says, “Princes shall come out of Egypt”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
