In Psalms ninety Moses said, “The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labor and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away”, and in chapter ninety and verse eleven of Psalms Moses asked, “who knows the power of your anger?” where we read,
Who knows the power of your anger? even according to your fear, so is your wrath.
The verse begins, “Who knows the power of your anger?” Moses began with the words, “who knows the power” or “what person is aware, has knowledge of, perceives, discriminates, distinguishes and discerns the might, strength, boldness and majesty” “of your anger” which means “pertaining to your, Jehovah God's, ire which causes the wrinkling of the face, nostril or nose”? Moses asked what person existed who understood the strength and might of Jehovah God's ire.
The verse goes on to say, “even according to your fear, so is your wrath.” Moses continued with the words, “even according to your fear” or “indeed in reference to your, Jehovah God's, terror, respect, reverence and piety”, “so is your wrath” which means “indeed and also exists your, Jehovah God's, outpouring, overflow, excess, fury, outburst and rage”. Moses referred to the overflowing and excessive terror, reverence and fury of Jehovah God.
When we consider the words in this verse, we see how Moses questioned what person knew the extent of Jehovah God's ire, and he reference the terror and piety of God as well as His overflowing fury and rage. None of us are able to fully know God's “anger”, and the reverence and awe we should have for Him, is only equivalent to His rage. God hates sin because it separates people from a personal relationship with Him, and this is why He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die for the sins, errors, wrongs and mistakes of all mankind. When we believe and trust in Jesus as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and keep us in a place of reverence, honor, respect and awe of Him for all eternity.
Next time Moses says, “teach us to number our days”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
