In Psalms ninety-seven the Psalmist said, “The LORD reigns; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad thereof. Clouds and darkness are round about him: righteousness and judgment are the habitation of his throne. A fire goes before him, and burns up his enemies round about. His lightnings enlightened the world: the earth saw, and trembled. The hills melted like wax at the presence of the LORD, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth”, and in chapter ninety-seven and verse six of Psalms the Psalmist said, “the heavens declare his righteousness” where we read,
The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory.
The verse begins, “The heavens declare his righteousness, ...” The Psalmist began with the words, “the heavens” or “the skies, atmosphere, abode of the stars and dwelling place of Jehovah God” “declare his righteousness” which means “utter, proclaim and tell of his, Jehovah God's, rightness, justice, victory and prosperity”. The Psalmist said the skies, atmosphere and dwelling place of Jehovah God utter and proclaim His rightness and justice.
The verse continues, “... and all the people see his glory.” The Psalmist added the words, “and all the people” or “and each, every, the whole and everyone of the human beings both male and female” “see his glory” which means “observe, notice, distinguish and discover his, Jehovah God's, honor, splendor, riches and dignity”. The Psalmist said every person in the world observes Jehovah God's splendor, riches and dignity.
When we think through the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist continued to share the attributes of Jehovah God. He said the skies, atmosphere and His dwelling place show people who He is as they observe His splendor and honor. God wants people to know Him, and He provided His Son Jesus to mankind to die on the cross for the sins of everyone so they may have a relationship with Him. When we believe in, trust in, rely upon and cling to Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us to see Him as the creator of the Heavens and Earth which reveal His splendor and glory to all who will look and see.
Next time the Psalmist says, “confounded be all they that serve graven images”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
