In Psalms ninety-five the Psalmist said, “the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods”, and in chapter ninety-five and verse four of Psalms the Psalmist said, “in his hand are the deep places of the earth” where we read,
In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also.
The verse begins, “In his hand are the deep places of the earth:” The Psalmist began with the words, “in his hand” or “within his, Jehovah God's, hand which represents His power, might and strength” “are the deep places” which means “exists as the range, space and field” “of the earth” or “belonging to the land, country, territory, district, region and world”. The Psalmist said the spaces, ranges and fields are within Jehovah God's power and strength all over the world.
The verse goes on to say, “the strength of the hills is his also.” The Psalmist continued with the words, “the strength” or “the eminence, lofty horns and summit” “of the hills” which means “belonging to the risings above the plains or mountain ranges” “is his also” or “exists as Jehovah God's even so and indeed”. The Psalmist said the eminence and summit of the risings above the plains and mountains exist as Jehovah God's as well.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn how the Psalmist knew the places of the earth both low and high belong to Jehovah God. God created the world and everything within it (See Genesis 1:1), and He has power over it all. This same God desires to have an intimate personal relationship with us through His Son Jesus who was sent into the world to die on the cross for our sins. When we put our faith and trust in Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and show Himself strong over the places that are low and high in the world.
Next time the Psalmist says, “the sea is his, and he made it”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
