In Psalms ninety-eight the Psalmist said, “Sing unto the LORD with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm. With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the LORD, the King”, and in chapter ninety-eight and verse seven of Psalms the Psalmist said, “let the sea roar, and the fullness thereof” where we read,
Let the sea roar, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
The verse begins, “Let the sea roar, and the fullness thereof;” The Psalmist began with the words, “let the sea roar” or “allow and permit the large body of water such as the Red Sed, Dead Sea and Mediterranean make the sound of thunder and rage”, “and the fullness thereof” which means “and all which fills and the entire contents”. The Psalmist called upon the complete “sea” to make a raging and thunderous sound.
The verse goes on to say, “the world, and they that dwell therein.” The Psalmist continued with the words, “the world” or “the land, ground, territory, region and earth”, “and they that dwell therein” which means “and they, the people both male and female, who live, abide and inhabit the world”. The Psalmist said the entire earth and the people within in it were to make a thunderous sound as well.
When we consider the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist beckoned all the “sea”, the earth and everybody within it to worship Jehovah God. God deserves our praise, honor and worship because He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord” , He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us to join in with all creation to worship Him eternally.
Next time the Psalmist says, “let the floods clap their hands”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
