In Psalms ninety-eight the Psalmist said, “O sing unto the LORD a new song, for he has done marvelous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, has gotten him the victory”, and in chapter ninety-eight and verse two of Psalms the Psalmist said, “the LORD has made known his salvation” where we read,
The LORD has made known his salvation:
his righteousness has he openly showed in the sight of the heathen.
The verse begins, “The LORD has made known his salvation:” The Psalmist began with the word, “the LORD” or “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “has made known” which means “acknowledged, appointed, regarded and made aware” “his salvation” or “his, Jehovah God's, deliverance, health, welfare, liberation and rescue”. The Psalmist said that Jehovah God acknowledged and made people aware of His rescue, liberation and deliverance.
The verse continues, “his righteousness has he openly showed in the sight of the heathen.” The Psalmist added the words, “his righteousness” or “his, Jehovah God's, moral virtue, justice and rightness” “has he openly showed” which means “has he, Jehovah God, revealed, advertised, disclosed and published” “in the sight” or “within the eye, face and presence” “of the heathen” which means “belonging to the foreign, non-Hebrew, pagan and Gentile people and nations”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God disclosed and revealed His moral virtue and rightness in the presence of the foreign and pagan nations.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we discover how the Psalmist declared Jehovah God's revelation of His rescue and deliverance unto mankind, and He “openly” published His moral virtue and justice in front of everyone. God wants to have a personal relationship with everyone, and He gave His Only Begotten Son Jesus to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. If we humble ourselves, repent of our sins and “believe in Him”, we shall be forgiven of our sins and granted everlasting life with God in Heaven. (See John 3:16) God loves us, and He has “openly showed” His plan of “salvation” to the world. Because He did, we have an opportunity to believe and receive His deliverance and live with Him forever in Heaven.
Next time the Psalmist says Jehovah God, “remembered his mercy and his truth”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
