In Psalms ninety-five and verse one the Psalmist said, “O come, let us sing unto the LORD” where we read,
O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.
The verse begins, “O come, let us sing unto the LORD:” The Psalmist began with the words, “O come” or “O walk, proceed, move and lead forth”, “let us sing” which means “allow and permit us, the Psalmist and His people, make music, cry aloud and make a ringing cry with their voices” “unto the LORD” or “toward Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”. The Psalmist called upon his people and himself to make music with their voices toward Jehovah God.
The verse continues, “let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.” The Psalmist added the words, “let us make a joyful noise” or “allow and permit us, the Psalmist and his people, to raise a sound, shout, cry out and give a blast” “to the rock” which means “toward the block of stone, boulder and foundation” “of our salvation” or “belonging to our, the Psalmist and his people, deliverance, rescue, safety, welfare, prosperity and liberation”. The Psalmist encouraged his people and himself to raise a sound and cry out to Jehovah God who is the foundation of their liberation and deliverance.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist exhorted those reading and hearing his words to “sing” and “shout aloud” in a rejoicing manner to Jehovah God. When we realize how much God loves us and proved it by sending His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for our sins, we will desire to “sing and shout” unto Him in a “joyful” manner. The Creator of the Universe desires to have a personal intimate relationship with us through His Son Jesus, and when we surrender to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life cause us to use our voices to “sing and shout” unto Him for all eternity.
Next time the Psalmist says, “Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
