In Psalms ninety-four the Psalmist asked, “Understand, you brutish among the people: and you fools, when will you be wise?”, and in chapter ninety-four and verse nine of Psalms the Psalmist asked, “He that planted the ear, shall he not hear?” where we read,
He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?
The verse begins, “He that planted the ear, shall he not hear?” The Psalmist began with the words, “He that planted the ear” or “He, Jehovah God, who fashioned, fixed and established the physical ear or organ for hearing to reveal and receive divine revelation”, “shall he not hear” which means “will he, Jehovah God, in no way or manner in no way or manner perceive and listen with attention or interest”? The Psalmist asked whether Jehovah God who formed and fashioned the physical ear for hearing would in no way be able to listen or give attention to people.
The verse continues, “he that formed the eye, shall he not see?” The Psalmist added the words, “he that formed the eye” or “he, Jehovah God, who fashioned, framed and created the physical eye used for sight or mental and spiritual faculties”, “shall he not see” which means “will he, Jehovah god, in no way or manner look, regard, pay attention, consider or show regard”? The Psalmist also referred to the way Jehovah God created the physical eye used for seeing, and He promises to provide forgiveness and everlasting life to us when we yield our lives unto Him.
When meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist questioned whether or not Jehovah God who formed and fashioned the physical ears and eyes would be able to “hear and see”. The obvious answer is, of course he can. God hears. God sees, and He knows the attitude, actions, words and deeds of every person. He knows we have sin in our lives, and for that reason He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross to pay the penalty of death for our sins. When we believe and trust in Jesus as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and help us to know that He “hears and sees” us and will do so throughout eternity.
Next time the Psalmist asks, “He that chastens the heathen, shall not he correct?”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
