In Psalms ninety-nine the Psalmist said, “The LORD is great in Zion; and he is high above all the people. Let them praise your great and terrible name; for it is holy”, and in chapter ninety-nine and verse four of Psalms the Psalmist said, “the king's strength also loves judgment” where we read,
The king's strength also loves judgment; you do establish equity,
you execute judgment and righteousness in Jacob.
The verse begins, “The king's strength also loves judgment; you do establish equity, ...” The Psalmist began with the words, “the king's strength” or “the royal ruler's, Jehovah God's, power, might, boldness and security” “also loves judgment” which means “even so and indeed has strong affection for justice, ordinance, the seat of process, procedure, litigation and execution of right and rectitude”; “you do establish” or “you, Jehovah God, make firm, stable, fixed and set up” “equity” which means “evenness, uprightness, straightness and level smoothness”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God's power and might has strong affection and “love” for justice, procedure, litigation and execution of right, and He sets up and makes firm straightness and uprightness.
The verse goes on to say, “you execute judgment and righteousness in Jacob.” The Psalmist continued with the words, “you execute judgment” or “you, Jehovah God, fashion, accomplish and make justice, ordinance, the seat of process, procedure, litigation and execution of right and rectitude” “and righteousness” which means “and justice, law, truthfulness, justification and salvation” “in Jacob” or “within Jacob whose name means supplanter or heel-catcher and was the son of Isaac, grandson of Abraham, and father of the twelve patriarchs of the tribes of Israel”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God fashioned and made litigation and execution of procedure, litigation and truthfulness.
When we consider the words in this verse, we learn how the Psalmist knew it was Jehovah God who had the power, might and ability to have strong affection for justice and litigation, and He originated and established truthfulness, justification, salvation and procedure for them. God loves people, and He wants to protect us. He gave His Son Jesus to the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and help us to understand His law, litigation and procedures are for our benefit and protection in this earth and in Heaven to come.
Next time the Psalmist says, “exalt you the LORD our God”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
