In Psalms eighty nine Ethan the Psalmist said, “Remember, Lord, the reproach of your servants; how I do bear in my bosom the reproach of all the mighty people. Wherewith your enemies have reproached, O LORD; wherewith they have reproached the footsteps of your anointed”, and in chapter eighty nine and verse fifty-two of Psalms Ethan said to Jehovah God, “Blessed be the LORD for evermore” where we read,
Blessed be the LORD for evermore. Amen, and Amen.
The verse begins, “Blessed be the LORD for evermore.” Ethan began with the words, “blessed be the LORD” or “praise be unto Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “for evermore” which means “for long duration, futurity, everlasting, perpetually and unto continuous existence”. Ethan declared that Jehovah God should be praised unto continuous existence.
The verse goes on to say, “Amen, and Amen.” Ethan continued with the word, “Amen” or “verily, truly and so be it”, “and amen” which means “and verily, truly and so be it”. Ethan called upon the praise of Jehovah God perpetually to truly allow it to be.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how Ethan ended this psalm with worshiping and praising Jehovah God, and his exhortation was that this should truly be done perpetually and continuously. We join in the praise, honor and glory of Jehovah God when we receive His Son Jesus as our personal “Savior and Lord”. Jesus died for our sins, and when we rely upon, trust in and cling to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us to be among the masses in Heaven that worship Him forever and ever.
Next time we begin a new chapter and see Moses say, “Lord, you have been our dwelling place”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
