Psalms ninety begins with the heading, “[[A Prayer of Moses the man of God.]]” which breaks down, “a prayer” or “the intercession and supplication which by implication is a hymn” “of Moses” which means “belonging to Moses whose name means drawing out or rescued and was the prophet and lawgiver who was the leader of the exodus” “the man of God” or “the male human being belonging to the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God”, and in chapter ninety and verse one of Psalms Moses said, “Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations” where we read,
Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations.
The verse begins, “Lord, you have been our dwelling place ...” Moses began with the word, “Lord” or “Adonay or reverent master”, “you have been our dwelling place” which means “you, reverent master, have existed as our, Moses and the people of Israel's, habitation, refuge and abode”. Moses said the reverent Master Jehovah God existed as his and the people of Israel's habitation and abode.
The verse continues, “... in all generations.” Moses added the words, “in all” or “within each, every, the whole and everyone of the” “generations” which means “periods of time, ages and posterity”. Moses proclaimed the reverent Master Jehovah God to be his and the people of Israel's habitation and refuge within each and every period and age of their posterity.
When we think through the words in this verse, we see how Moses proclaimed the reverent Master Jehovah God to be his and the Israelite's refuge perpetually. From generation to generation and age to age, Jehovah God was Israel's God. God loves the country of Israel, and He chose them to be the source of His salvation to the world. (See Genesis 18:18; 22:18; 26:4; Malachi 3:12) Jesus, the Messiah, is God's Son who came through the lineage of Israel, and He died on the cross for the sins of all mankind throughout the world. When we receive Jesus as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us to become a part of His eternal worshipers in Heaven. Let us give praise, honor and glory to Jehovah God and His Son Jesus who is our refuge and habitation forever.
Next time Moses says, “from everlasting to everlasting, you are God”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
