God's Throne Established of Old - Psalms 93:2

In Psalms ninety-three the Psalmist said, “The LORD reigns, he is clothed with majesty. The LORD is clothed with strength, wherewith he has girded himself: the world also is established, that it cannot be moved”, and in chapter ninety-three and verse two of Psalms the Psalmist said, “your throne is established of old” where we read,

Your throne is established of old: you are from everlasting.

The verse begins, “Your throne is established of old:” The Psalmist began with the words, “your throne” or “your, Jehovah God's, seat of honor, royal dignity, authority and power” “is established” which means “exists as firm, stable, fixed and secure” “of old” or “from the beginning and in the past”. The Psalmist declared Jehovah God's seat of honor, royal dignity, authority and power to have been fixed, stable and secure from the past and beginning of time.

The verse continues, “you are from everlasting.” The Psalmist added the words, “you are from” or “you, Jehovah God, have existed from” “everlasting” which means “long duration, antiquity, perpetuity and long past”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God has existed from the beginning and ancient time.

When consider the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist declared Jehovah God's rule and reign to have been set in place from a long time ago. He existed before the world began, and He is the Creator God of everything within the earth and universe. He wants to have a personal relationship with us through His Son Jesus whom He sent into the world to die on the cross for our sins, (See Romans 6:23) and when we surrender to Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us to be with Him in Heaven forever.

Next time the Psalmist says, “O LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
